Footpath Number 17

Start: B3272 (near Charles Kingsley School, Village Hall)

End: Footpath 16 (near Bluebell Woods)

Distance: ¾ Mile

This little path connects one of the key footpaths (FP 16) to two key village establishments; Charles Kingsley Primary School and the Village Hall and as such is a key part of the local walkways, and frequently in use.

Start by facing the school Gates and turn left in the direction of the village green. Just before the first house a small pedestrian only tarmac is on your right, this is the start of FP 17.  It runs along the side of the school field until it reaches Kingsley Road.  Cross the road and you will see a narrow passage between two houses. Follow this path (noting that this section can be quite muddy after rain).

The path turns right then sharp left and follows down until you reach a metal gate. Go through the gate and onto a wide field, owned by Brickhouse Farm. The path across the field is reasonably clear it follows a diagonal trajectory to the far corner where it meets Footpath 16 and you can turn left to the village, or right towards the church.
