Footpath Number 15

Start: Up Green Farm, Marsh Lane/Coopers Hill

End: Brickhouse Farm

Distance: 0.8 Miles

This shortish path takes the walker through the fields south of Lower Eversley Copse and is an alternative route to St Mary’s church via Brickhouse Farm.

The start can be found at the top of Chequers Lane, where Up Green Farm is situated at the sharp bend of Marsh Lane and Coopers Hill.

Just to the left of the farm the signpost can be seen pointing along the border of the farm. There tends to be quite a lot of brambles at the start of the pathway, but these soon rescind. Follow the path along the side of the farm and continue along the hedges until you reach a style. Cross the stile and you will see a well gravelled path that has only recently been laid. Follow this path as it runs along the edge of the woods.

You have to cross another stile as you turn right then follow the path around to the left and then across the top of the next field. At the top corner of the field the gravelled path turns right, but FP 15 follows straight on across another stile into a small, wooded area and a couple of wooden bridges.

After a short time and yet another stile, the path heads around a set of fields that provide great views down towards the Bluebell woods. The fields usually have some horses that may very well come to see you as you walk.

Finally, the path circles under the garden of the house at Brickhouse Farm and comes out by some of the farm outbuildings. Turning left will take you out of the driveway and onto the A327, from where (if you are careful of the traffic) you can turn right and walk towards either the church or FP 16 to continue your walk.
