Rights of Way in Eversley

Eversley is fortunate to have a number of footpaths, bridleways and byways and a Parish Council that take an active interest in maintaining these valuable community resources.

The individual Rights of Way vary in length and type, but together can be used (alongside some public highways) to form a network of paths and walks across Eversley with a focal point of St Mary’s church.

In this section you will find details of the individual Rights of Way, maps, pictures and some videos. (Note. **These are currently being updated)

Any users of these rights of way should be aware that many of them pass across private land and the only “right” so conferred is to walk along them, (although it is permitted to ride a horse or bicycle on bridleways).

Whilst it is permitted to walk a dog on the path, you should be aware that it is an offence to allow a dog in a field with sheep, unless it is on a lead or under control. Dog Walkers should also ensure that they pick up any dog litter to ensure the paths can be enjoyed by other users. The Countryside Code refreshed in 2021 by the government offers good guidance for all footpath users.

Conditions do change over time in the countryside so whilst every effort has been made to ensure accuracy,  inevitably there will be some differences when you walk these paths.

This section complements a refreshed booklet originally commissioned by the Parish Council to commemorate the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. It updates and expands on previous publications; a version compiled in 1978 by HJ George and a later edition from 1991 compiled by Joyce Holroyd, both published by the Parish Council.

We hope this updated guide and maps encourage you to get out and walk around our lovely Village.
