Footpath Number 24

Start: Fox Lane
End: Crosby Garden’s, Yateley
Distance: 0.3 Miles
Map: 3 – North East

This is a well-hidden footpath, but well worth a walk as it takes you alongside the Watmore Farm fishery lake and provides a means to reach the footpaths of Yateley without walking on the 50 MPH stretch of the B3272.

It used to be extremely “boggy” underfoot in times of rain, but improvements along its length have been made in recent years, although there are still some marshy bits in the final approach to Crosby Gardens, so if it has been wet, take your wellies!

From Fox Lane between Watmore Farm Fishery and the B3272 the footpath is entered through a small kissing gate and takes you along a narrow path bordered by fencing and bushes on both sides.  The path crosses a wider track with metal gates, before passing through an old gate.

Across to your left you can see the Fishery lake before you turn right between some trees and into a wider field, from where you can see the houses in Crosby Gardens. Follow the path across to the right hand side of the field and you will encounter a gate that takes you onto a small tarmac path and into Crosby Gardens themselves.

This is the end of the official pathway, but turning right at the end of the path and along Crosby Gardens will take you back to the main B3272 Eversley to Yateley Road.
